Practical Pomology: A Field Guide is a beautifully crafted book that celebrates the rich history and remarkable diversity of Maine apples. In 2024, No Umbrella partnered with creators, Sean Turley, Cecilia Ziko, and John Bunker to produce a crowdfunding video for Kickstarter that brings the story of the book to life. The video features interviews with Sean and John, offering insight into the making of the guide, along with stunning visuals of the book’s pages and the picturesque orchard where Sean and John spend much of their time. The project was a runaway hit, as the Practical Pomology kickstarter raised over $45,000 from 567 backers.
As 2022 came to a close, No Umbrella worked with Ben, Whit and the team at American Roots for a heart-warming video adieu to a challenging and spirited year. The Westbrook-based family owned union shop is a pillar of the community, and this project connected with it’s customers, employees, neighbors and friends during the holiday season.
In light of the public announcement of their merger, Gorham Savings Bank and Maine Community Bank’s two leaders sat down for a conversation about the months of work that led to the decision, how Maine people benefit, and what to expect in the months to come while the merger process completes. Filmed in our studio, this 2024 chat between Gorham Savings Bank President/CEO Steve deCastro and Maine Community Bank CEO Jeanne Huilt also exhibited the comfortable working chemistry between the two new partners; helping to bring confidence to employees and customers as the two financial institutions moved through the process of coming together to form the largest mutual savings bank operating exclusively in Maine.

In 2024, No Umbrella worked with Beth, Mandy and Meghan to create an org story video that shows the Side x Side program at work as students and teachers craft, explore, and create in the classroom.
