Short Doc: Environmental Benefits of Farmed Seaweed in Maine
Client: World Wildlife Fund
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is a global nonprofit committed to developing and promoting practices that conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth, with a mission to build a future where people and nature thrive together.
Using voices of scientists (wildlife or fishery biologists and water/weather experts, to summarize data supporting habitat-creation and de-acidification studies), community stakeholders (to explain the positive fit in the local community and community benefits) and farmers themselves (to speak about their observations and practices in the water), this short doc shows how coastal Maine aquaculture contributes in a meaningful way to regenerating coastal habitats and combating climate change, all the while continuing to edify itself as a growing, economically viable industry.
